Sau'na: (sow'-na) n. (Building for) Finnish-style steam-bath, in which steam is provided by water thrown on hot stones. [Finn] - Etymology: Finnish, 1891. The correct pronounciation for sauna is sow-na (as in "cow"), not saw-na.

Löyly: (lewr'-lew) n. The gently hissing steam created by tossing water on hot sauna rocks, is perhaps the purest essence of the sauna tradition, as well as the favorite aspect of sauna bathing for most sauna lovers.
